Fall with friends

5 things to do with your friends this fall!

September 19, 2016

#1. Try a new sport

Get a group of friends together and make a day out of some friendly competition with new sports and games that no one has played before. If you have trouble finding a game then here is an idea, it’s called “Spikeball”, ever heard of it before?  If you haven’t, you should definitely check it out because you don’t know what you’re missing.

This game is fun, exciting, addictive and easy to get the hang of. All you need to do is find a great spot to play (park, backyard or beach) a spike ball set and a small group of four friends.

#2. Go trail hunting

If you’re feeling adventurous and you want to be more active how about finding some trails and spend the day exploring with a group of friends and try to get lost.  You can hike or bike, just remember to bring the right pair of shoes, lots of water and a big lunch and find a place to settle down for a picnic.  The fall is a great time of the year to get out for some beautiful sightseeing so don’t forget to bring your camera!

#3. Get out and Volunteer!

You have probably seen massive groups of organized volunteers who set out to clean up neighbourhood parks in the spring, but nothing and no one is stopping you from doing it anytime on your own!  Grab a few friends, some gloves and a few garbage bags and see how much you can collect in your neighbourhood.

This is a truly satisfying experience and can actually be a lot of fun with a group of friends!

#4. Go Geo-caching

If you are unfamiliar with Geo-caching, then you are not alone.  This adventurous activity is a hidden gem that is kept hush to a certain degree by the community of geocachers.  To sum it up Geo-caching is an adventure hunt with active members hiding “caches” in secret locations all over the world including your neighbourhood!  In these millions of “caches,” members from the geocaching community will share their experiences by leaving notes or little valuables inside the caches for the next adventurer to come by.

To find these caches all you need a geocaching account and a GPS device.  But it's not as easy as it sounds… some of these caches will be hidden well and some members will intentionally alter the accuracy of the coordinates and leave riddles and clues of how to find it in the description, all adding to the creativity and excitement of the adventure.

#5. Go Attend your Local Fall festival

Maybe it has been a while since you have attended your local fall festival and the activities that you once loved no longer interest you. That doesn’t mean that there is nothing at these festivals that would interest you now! Some festivals offer an array of activities for all ages, ranging from rides and games to foods and competitions and if you are into arts and crafts and showrooms there is almost something for you.

Fall Festival

Maybe that something could inspire a new hobby of your own. So this fall why not spend a day checking out what your local fall festival has to offer.
